It has been 27+ years in the making, and today Canyon Rigging stands out from the crowd as a bastion for leadership in Alberta’s rigging industry. Gregg and Debbie Hampton, the founders of Canyon Rigging, were honoured to receive the 2025 Business in Calgary’s Leaders Award. Their leadership is what took Canyon Rigging from being a family working out of a lean-to beside their home, to a company with over 80 employees and 4 locations across Alberta. That leadership is born from their passion for the industry and a desire to create a company you can rely on.
Gregg Hampton began his journey in rigging under the wing of a Rod Rayburn, working with him for two weeks before Rob’s retirement. He would quickly establish his knowledge and expertise under Rob’s tutelage, but Gregg’s mastery of the rigging craft would come later as he grew into a confident sales man, an expert in his craft, and a business owner. He would utilize his passion and drive to push his business forward.

Debbie Hampton has been an instrumental member of the Canyon Family since its inception. She helped establish Canyon Rigging’s initial success, and was a driving factor in creating an effective direction for the company. Her astute business insight and her ability to navigate through challenges gave Canyon Rigging the ability to navigate towards its current success.
The two of them together make an unstoppable team that are able to tackle any challenge and weather any storm.
